Air India Announce Longest Flight in the World!! | Secret Flying

Delhi, India to San Francisco, USA will be the longest non-stop flight in the world starting 2nd December 2015.

Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, announced on the weekend that Air India will launch the longest non-stop flight in the world. The three-times-a-week service will begin on 2nd December 2015 and will fly from Delhi to the Silicon Valley hub of San Francisco. The days of the week the flight will operate on are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

San Francisco (SFO) will join New York (JFK & EWR) and Chicago (ORD) in becoming Air India’s fourth US destination. The airline will also launch holiday packages in collaboration with state tourism development corporations, suggesting they are not just targeting business travellers. An Air India official said the Boeing 777-200 aircraft will be used for this route.

The news comes just 1 month after Emirates announced the record-breaking service from Dubai to Panama City beginning 1st February 2016. Looks like the Dubai-based carrier will now have to settle for second place behind Air India’s grueling 16-hour and 45-minute flight.
