Wizz Air Passengers Delayed for 26 Hours

Wizz Air Passengers Delayed for 26 Hours | Secret Flying

170 Wizz Air passengers waited for over a day to board their Liverpool to Riga flight.

Passengers were due to board flight W62512 from Liverpool to Riga at 6pm on Sunday night. The Eastern European budget airline had to ground the aircraft due to ‘unscheduled maintenance’, forcing passengers to stay overnight in a nearby hotel. The following morning, the passengers were shuttled back to the airport at 7am only to find out that they had to wait until 9:30pm when the plane would finally be ready.

The total amount of time waiting for their flight far exceeded a full 24-hour day.

Mari Kerr, one of the passengers affected, shared a number of updates on social media of her experience. She was flying to Latvia for her brother’s wedding, who himself tweeted the airline: “my wedding is in… 14hours. Will my sister be here?”.

Another passenger was left outraged after the delayed flight meant they missed their five-year-old daughter’s birthday, writing on Twitter: “28h delay for flight to Riga from Liverpool John Lennon airport. No Wizzair representative ever said anything decent…i could miss my kids 5 year birthday!”

An airline spokesman said “Wizz Air sincerely apologised to all affected customers for any inconvenience caused by this delay but the safety of our crew and passengers is always our number one priority.”

Justifies why Secret Flying rarely posts budget airline flight deals.
