An Emirates flight from India has crash landed at Dubai International Airport with almost 300 people on board.

 

An Emirates airline plane has crash landed at Dubai International Airport after allegedly catching fire in mid-air. The Dubai government confirmed the Boeing 777-300 jet performed an emergency landing after 1pm local time with almost 300 passengers and crew on board. Despite the dramatic images surfacing online, no serious injuries have been reported.

 


 

The airline’s Facebook page posted the following statement: “Emirates can confirm that today, 3rd August 2016, flight EK521 travelling from Trivandrum International Airport in Thiruvananthapuram, India to Dubai has been involved in an accident at Dubai International Airport. There were 275 passengers and crew on board.

“Our main priority at this time is the safety and wellbeing of all involved and full co-operation is being extended to the authorities and emergency services managing the situation.”

 

All departures from Dubai International Airport have been delayed until further notice, the Dubai authorities said, adding that the emergency services were dealing with the situation.
