Saudi prince books 80 plane seats for his falcons | Secret Flying

A Saudi prince booked 80 plane seats for his falcons on a Qatar Airways flight.

A Reddit member shared an image of 80 falcons seated in a Qatar Airways economy cabin. The photograph was taken by the captain of the plane.

Although the sight of falcons in the main cabin of a commercial flight may seem strange, it is relatively common in the Middle East. Many airlines offer the service, including Lufthansa. Since 2002, the United Arab Emirates have been issuing falcon passports.

Falconry is an ancient Arab tradition that still exists today. In the sport, falcons take off from their master’s arm to attack their prey. The master will then follow, typically by camel, to collect the prey and reward the falcon with a piece of meat.
