An Emirates flight from Dubai was kept isolated at JFK on Wednesday after reports that a number of passengers on board were sick.

10 Emirates passengers on a flight from Dubai were taken to hospital when the plane landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 106 of the 521 people on board the flight reported feeling ill.

It is suspected the cause of the outbreak was the flu.

A Jamaica Hospital spokesperson said multiple patients from the flight treated at the Queens facility were experiencing headache, sore throat, coughs and fever.

Rapper Vanilla Ice was on the plane and posted a video of the emergency response when the plane landed in New York.

The aircraft was immediately surrounded by dozens of ambulances and other emergency vehicles as passengers were screened by the local health authorities prior to disembarkation.

A spokesman for New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said that some of the passengers had come from the annual Islamic pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which was currently experiencing a flu outbreak.
