Violent brawl leads to suspensions.
A Donghai Airlines captain and flight attendant have been suspended for having a fight after a passenger wanted to use a toilet reserved for crew.
Flight DZ6297 was only 50 minutes away from its destination Xi’an, when the captain spotted a first class passenger standing outside the bathroom he wanted to use.
When the captain finished using the bathroom, he noticed the passenger was still standing outside insisting to use the crew’s restroom.
The captain confronted the head flight attendant and accused him of neglecting his duties for allowing a passenger to stand so close to the cockpit.
A war of words broke out between the pair before fists were thrown resulting in a missing tooth for the captain and a broken arm for the flight attendant.
Donghai Airlines has suspended the two unnamed men and has set up a “high-level investigation” into the case.
“The company attached high importance to the argument among the crew members during flight and conducted a strict internal verification. Those staff members involved have been suspended their job to ensure flight safety,” the airline said in a statement.
