Chinese public toilets go hi-tech with Wi-Fi and facial recognition | Secret Flying

China is in the midst of a ‘toilet revolution’ bringing Wi-Fi, TV screens and ATMS to public bathrooms.

Cities across China are installing hi-tech toilets in public restrooms that contain a raft of technology.

Features include free Wi-Fi, phone chargers and systems that allow users to pay their utility bills.

Facial recognition equipment had been installed to prevent the overuse and theft of toilet paper. Each ‘face’ receives 40cm of loo roll from a dispenser.

If a user needs more toilet paper, they have to wait as long as nine minutes.

Some cubicles are also equipped with sensors that alert bathroom attendants if someone has been inside for more than ten minutes.
