Delta Air Lines is accused of “censorship.”

Delta Air Lines is accused of editing its in-flight movies, censoring gay and lesbian love scenes.

The news first broke when director Olivia Wilde claimed Delta had removed a hookup scene between two teenage girls in her movie ‘Booksmart.’

Speaking to Variety magazine on the red carpet at Sunday night’s Academy’s Governor’s Award,  Wilde said that her “heart just broke” after learning of Delta’s decision.

“I finally had the chance to watch an edited version of Booksmart on a flight to see exactly what had been censored,” Wilde tweeted.

“Turns out some airlines work with a third-party company that edits the movie based on what they deem inappropriate. Which, in our case, is … female sexuality?”

Another Delta passenger shared their outrage on social media after watching ‘Rocketman’ only to find “almost every gay reference” had been removed.

Shana Krochmalkly tweeted: “On Delta today discovered that Rocketman is stripped of almost every gay reference or scene that [Elton John] fought to keep in the film’s mainstream release, including a simple chaste kiss.”

A Delta Air Lines spokesman said that the company values diversity and inclusion and will “review our processes to ensure edited video content doesn’t conflict with these values”.
