An Aeroflot plane bound for Moscow made an emergency landing after a drunk passenger tried to hijack the aircraft.
A drunk passenger who tried to hijack an Aeroflot plane has been arrested after an emergency landing in Siberia.
The passenger tried to break into the cockpit during the flight from the Siberian city of Surgut to Moscow.
According to reports, the man warned cabin crew he had a weapon and demanded the plane divert to Afghanistan.
It later turned out he was not armed.
Aeroflot flight SU1515 made a 180-degree turn sparking concerns of a terrorist attack.

The unidentified man faces up to 12 years in prison for the hijacking attempt.
Video posted online of shows other passengers berating the would-be hijacker after masked police boarded the plane.
“We’re late because of you,” one man yelled. “You dumbass.”
