**MASSIVE UPDATE** FUEL DUMP: Dump Western Canada to Paris/London flights WITHOUT 1x strike

**MASSIVE UPDATE** FUEL DUMP: Dump Western Canada to Paris/London flights WITHOUT 1x strike | Secret Flying

**MASSIVE UPDATE**

We have discovered that you can dump 2 roundtrip transatlantic flights on the same ticket by adding a 5x strike.
You can also add a 6x strike on top of that.
What’s crazy is that these strikes are very conveniently flyable i.e. you can use them, making it a fully usable 6 segment itinerary.

If you do not know what Fuel Dumping is, please read Fuel Dumping: the basics
This article is strictly for educational purposes only. Should you choose to book a fuel dumped ticket, Secret Flying bears no responsibility whatsoever.

This week’s Fuel Dump is for flights from Western Canada to Paris or London.
By using a 1x strike, you can remove ALL of the ticket’s fuel surcharge:

In our above image, you can see that by adding a 1x strike, the roundtrip price of the Calgary to Paris flight drops by over 60%.

The entire fuel surcharge component on the ticked is dumped.

Notice we have removed the main flight’s airline logo from the ticket image.
The reason we have done this is to prevent the airline from easily noticing it is their flight that’s being dumped. This will allow this fuel dump to remain working for longer.
If you would like to know which carrier the main flight is with, it’s very easy to work out which airline flies non-stop between Calgary and Paris.

This dump works on flights departing many airports in Western Canada (which all have a layover in Calgary), including, but not limited to:
YVR YYC YEG YXH YXX YYF YXC YBR YCD YKA YQQ YXT YYJ YQR YXE YXJ YLW YQU YXS YWG YMM YQL

This fuel dump can also be very relevant to US residents as some of the above Canadian airports are only minutes away from the US border.
For example, Abbotsford Airport (YXX) is only an 11-minute drive from the US border.

Roundtrip flights from Western Canada to London, UK are also dumpable, however, they will incur a hefty UK Air Passenger Duty tax of C$148 for the incoming leg (LHR-YYC). This compulsory fee defeats the purpose of the fuel dump.
The way to avoid this tax is to do an open-jaw route – fly to London but depart from Paris. A one-way Eurostar train from London to Paris is cheaper than the UK Air Passenger Duty tax of C$148 so effectively you can visit 2 amazing cities for cheaper than flying just roundtrip to London.

Availability is very good from November 2023 to March 2024.
Very reputable OTAs are pricing this dump e.g. Expedia:

**UPDATE**
This Fuel Dump also works when double-decking the Canada to Europe roundtrip flights.

For example, you can book two roundtrip flights from Calgary to Paris on the same ticket and dump both of them with a single 1x strike.
By doing this, it works out at only $C267 per roundtrip flight:

Remember, a 1x strike takes place BEFORE the main dumped flight and so typically must be flown.
However, some 1x strikes are possible to be skipped, leaving the main flight’s booking confirmed and valid.
If you would like to know which 1x strikes are skippable, you must work it out yourself. Secret Flying cannot assist with this.

Some Fuel Dumping enthusiasts say that a 1x strike airline that has zero affiliation with the airline of the dumped flight (e.g. no codeshare partnership, no alliance partnership, no mileage accrual) are more likely to be skippable. For example, RwandAir and the flag carrier of Bolivia, BoA, have no affiliation whatsoever with one another. If there was a dump involving these two airlines, there’s a chance the 1x would be skippable. This theory is not guaranteed to work however.

Some also place the 1x date the day before (or if possible, even the same day as) the main flight’s departure so they can check-in online and get their boarding pass before the 1x strike even takes place.
This apparently lowers the chance of the dumped ticket being cancelled when they skip the 1x strike. Again, this is not guaranteed to work.

A handful of Fuel Dumping enthusiasts are so passionate about this practice that they book a dumped ticket with no intention to fly, simply to test if a 1x strike is skippable. If their ticket was not cancelled after skipping the 1x strike, they now know they have a golden skippable 1x strike they can use in future.

Secret Flying bears no responsibility if you choose to book a Fuel Dumped ticket and/or skip a 1x strike.

Even if you are not based in North America and do not find this dumped route useful, it is still in your best interest to know what the 1x strike is.
This is because the same strikes often work on different airlines and different routes around the world (as many of you saw in previous Fuel Dump posts).
This 1x strike may dump a USA to Asia or a Canada to Africa route next month, so it’s worth having an arsenal of strikes in your possession.

Before using the Secret Flying Fuel Dumping Tool to find the 1x strike, we recommend you first find the DUMPABLE candidate flight.
Without knowing the candidate fare, it will be harder for you to find the dump on the tool – see here.
REMEMBER: The 1x strike can be anywhere in the world. It typically takes a huge amount of time and effort to find yourself.

Happy hunting!!
