Flight deals from the USA to Europe in lie-flat business class | Secret Flying

Welcome to another of Secret Flying’s Fuel Dumps.

We provide hints to the best working fuel dumps.
You can then try and find the strike using the Secret Flying Fuel Dumping Tool.

If you would rather not spend time using the FD Tool, you can now pay for FAST TRACK to gain access to an eBook that reveals the strike details (see bottom of this article).

If you do not know what Fuel Dumping is, please read Fuel Dumping: the basics
This article is strictly for educational purposes only. Should you choose to book a fuel dumped ticket, Secret Flying bears no responsibility whatsoever.

This week’s Fuel Dump is for business class flights from the USA to Europe.
We’re talking about REAL business class. Lie-flat seats business class!!
By using a 1x strike, you can remove ALL of the ticket’s fuel surcharge.

As you can see below, the ITA Matrix breakdown of the New York to Dublin business class fare shows that the base fare total is only $99. This is insanely cheap for a long-haul business class ticket – a price you will only typically see on an Error Fare.
Even after dumping the flight, this must be paid along with taxes.

The fuel surcharge (Carrier-imposed surcharge (YR)), which is a whopping $1900, is what is getting completely dumped by this trick.
We have NEVER seen a base fare to fuel surcharge ratio this large. This is like the holy grail of fuel dumping!!

The reason the base fare is so cheap is because the airline has made the fuel surcharge ridiculously expensive. Perfect for fuel dumping 😉

You can see that by adding a 1x strike, the roundtrip price of the Business Class flight from New York to Dublin dumps $1851 off the standard roundtrip price per passenger – a saving of over 88%

The entire fuel surcharge component on the ticked is dumped.

Notice we have removed the main flight’s airline logo from the ticket image.
The reason we have done this is to prevent the airline from easily noticing it is their flight that’s being dumped. This will allow this fuel dump to remain working for longer.
If you would like to know which carrier the main flight is with, it’s very easy to work out based on the flight times.

Boston to Dublin is also dumping for the same price:

The cheapest base fares appear to be in March 2024.
The airline is expected to release more cheap base fares in other months in the near future.

Very reputable OTAs are pricing this dump e.g. Expedia:

Remember, a 1x strike takes place BEFORE the main dumped flight and so typically must be flown.
However, some 1x strikes are possible to be skipped, leaving the main flight’s booking confirmed and valid.
If you would like to know which 1x strikes are skippable, you must work it out yourself. Secret Flying cannot assist with this.

Some Fuel Dumping enthusiasts say that a 1x strike airline that has zero affiliation with the airline of the dumped flight (e.g. no codeshare partnership, no alliance partnership, no mileage accrual) are more likely to be skippable. For example, RwandAir and the flag carrier of Bolivia, BoA, have no affiliation whatsoever with one another. If there was a dump involving these two airlines, there’s a chance the 1x would be skippable. This theory is not guaranteed to work however.

Some also place the 1x date the day before (or if possible, even the same day as) the main flight’s departure so they can check-in online and get their boarding pass before the 1x strike even takes place.
This apparently lowers the chance of the dumped ticket being cancelled when they skip the 1x strike. Again, this is not guaranteed to work.

A handful of Fuel Dumping enthusiasts are so passionate about this practice that they book a dumped ticket with no intention to fly, simply to test if a 1x strike is skippable. If their ticket was not cancelled after skipping the 1x strike, they now know they have a golden skippable 1x strike they can use in future.

Secret Flying bears no responsibility if you choose to book a Fuel Dumped ticket and/or skip a 1x strike.

Even if you are not based in the US and do not find this dumped route useful, it is still in your best interest to know what the 1x strike is.
This is because the same strikes often work on different airlines and different routes around the world (as many of you saw in previous Fuel Dump posts we’ve shared).
This 1x strike may dump a Europe to Asia route next month, so it’s worth having an arsenal of strikes in your possession.

Before using the Secret Flying Fuel Dumping Tool to find the 1x strike, we recommend you first find the DUMPABLE candidate flight.
Without knowing the candidate fare, it will be harder for you to find the dump on the tool – see here.
REMEMBER: The 1x strike can be anywhere in the world. It typically takes a huge amount of time and effort to find yourself.

Happy hunting!!
