Ryanair has released video it claims exposes a photograph of cabin crew sleeping on an airport floor.

 

Ryanair has responded to claims of cabin crew sleeping on the floor of an airport, by releasing CCTV footage.

 

Earlier this week, a photograph purporting to show six airline staff sleeping on the floor of the crew room was posted on the Facebook page Ryanair Must Change.

 

The photo claimed that as Storm Leslie hit Portugal, many flights had to be diverted to Spain resulting in crew having to sleep at the airport.

 

The airline has since hit back by posting CCTV footage they claim exposes the photo.

 

The video, posted to Ryanair’s Twitter account is titled, “Ryanair exposes fake photo of cabin crew sleeping in crew room. Watch video here”.

 

 

Footage shows cabin crew going to lie down, whilst a crew member takes a photo. After the photo is taken, the group stand up and walk away.

 

In a statement, Ryanair said: “This picture is clearly staged and no crew ‘slept on the floor’.

 

“Due to storms in Porto (13 Oct) a number of flights diverted to Malaga and as this was a Spanish national holiday, hotels were fully booked.

 

“The crew spent a short period of time in the crew room before being moved to a VIP lounge, and returned to Porto the next day (none of the crew operated flights).”
