A man was arrested on Monday after jumping the perimeter fence at Los Angeles International Airport and running onto the runway.
A man was taken into custody after scaling a 10½-foot-tall perimeter fence at Los Angeles International Airport and running onto the runway to do push-ups.
The unidentified man was spotted running across the runway about 1:40 p.m Monday near a Delta aircraft that was preparing to take off.
‘Bizarre travel day here at LAX,’ Delta Airlines passenger Zach Wigal tweeted from his seat.
‘Right now sitting on a plane that was readying for takeoff. Someone ran onto the tarmac and apparently tried to stop / jump onto our plane.’
Another passenger, Chad Ridgely, tweeted: “The view from our @Delta flight at LAX. A guy ran onto the runway and started doing push-ups. Swiftly apprehended by @LAAirportPD before he could transition to sprints. ”
