A mother was left angry and embarrassed after a Ryanair flight attendant told her to stop breastfeeding her son.
A mother was left embarassed after a flight attendant ordered her to stop breastfeeding her seven-month-old son a Ryanair flight.
Rachel Duffy, 40, was flying from Faro Airport, Portugal to Manchester earlier this month.
She began breastfeeding her son during take off, in the hope it would prevent his ears from popping.
At that moment, a flight attendant ordered her to stop breastfeeding her child and immediately re-dress.
The mother, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, said: “The air steward came over and told me that I couldn’t feed my son, which was shocking as I had been fine on the Ryanair flight just ten days earlier.
“The steward stood and watched while I struggled to sit my baby up – who started to cry – and continued to stand there until I had re-dressed myself.”
Rachel claims she was left “angry and embarrassed” by the incident.
She also said she is now nervous to fly again.
A spokesperson for Ryanair said: ‘Breastfeeding mothers are very welcome on board our flights.’
