Spirit unveils its first plane featuring the airline’s new interior.
Spirit Airlines has unveiled its new cabin interior featuring many upgrades.
The brand-new Airbus A320neo includes padded seats with ultra-lightweight foam made of a composite skeleton to add comfort.
The seats will offer a wider range of postures and movements allowing for an extra two inches of usable legroom compared to flatback seats with the same pitch.
The tray tables are also full-size instead of miniature.
In addition, Spirit is adding comfort to its Big Front Seats which will feature a new ergonomically-improved headrest.
“We listened to our guests and went on the hunt for the optimal Spirit seat,” Spirit CEO Ted Christie said in a statement.
“Our new seats and cabin redesign were developed from the ground up to enhance the experience while maintaining our low fares at the same time.
“We’re the fastest-growing airline in the country, and we’re delighted to usher in these innovations in Guest comfort as our fleet doubles in size over the next five years.”
According to reports, new and existing planes will get the new look over the next several years.
