Unruly passenger disrupts easyJet flight, alarming passengers and crew.
A shocking incident took place aboard an EasyJet flight when a passenger, heavily intoxicated, attempted to storm the cockpit. The disturbance occurred on flight EZY8235 en route to Kos, Greece, where passengers and crew members alike were left stunned by the unfolding events.
The alarming situation was captured on camera, with footage showing the unruly passenger trying to take control of the aircraft. According to reports, the passenger loudly announced his intentions to “take over the flight” after becoming agitated during a patch of turbulence. The situation became even more tense as the individual made disparaging comments about the pilot’s abilities, declaring that the pilot was “rubbish.”
Several passengers bravely intervened, with one man stepping forward to physically restrain the disruptive individual. The scene was met with applause from others onboard, who were evidently relieved to see the escalating situation being brought under control. Social media users quickly shared videos from the flight, with one post describing the “emergency landing” made necessary by the man’s actions. The plane eventually diverted to Munich, where authorities apprehended the passenger.
One TikTok user, Charlotte Keen, uploaded footage of the dramatic event, including the moment the man was restrained. Keen’s video, which quickly gained traction, showed the disruptive passenger being subdued as other passengers voiced their frustration and disbelief at his behaviour. One can be heard shouting, “Get off you loser,” as the situation deteriorated. Despite the man’s repeated apologies, it was clear that few, if any, onboard were in a forgiving mood.
Further adding to the chaos, passengers reported that the plane’s intercom system had been damaged during the altercation. Although it remains unclear exactly how the equipment was affected, the malfunction only added to the sense of unease during the already fraught situation. The individual responsible for the disturbance was eventually handed over to local authorities once the aircraft made its emergency landing.
Although initially believed to be travelling with a woman presumed to be his girlfriend, she distanced herself from the man following his outburst. Passengers reported that she apologised to those seated nearby, before clarifying that she had “nothing to do with him” and had no involvement in his disruptive actions.
Despite the chaos caused by the man’s attempt to storm the cockpit, the quick response from the crew and passengers ensured that the situation was brought under control swiftly. The crew’s efforts, supported by a few brave passengers, were widely praised by those onboard, with the individual who apprehended the man receiving a round of applause as the situation finally calmed.
