Promotion to explore Japan beyond the main cities.
Japan Airlines has launched an enticing offer for international travellers, providing free domestic flights to encourage them to explore more of the country. With this new promotion, the airline aims to showcase the diverse beauty of Japan, beyond just the usual hotspots such as Tokyo and Osaka.
The airline operates flights to 64 domestic airports along 133 different routes, giving travellers plenty of options to explore. Japan Airlines hopes this offer will inspire visitors to venture into lesser-known regions of the country, like the historical city of Kyoto, home to 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, or the scenic beauty of Hokkaido in the north. Another notable destination is Kagoshima, often referred to as the gateway to Japan’s southern islands, where some of the country’s most thrilling outdoor adventures await.
The free domestic flights initiative is part of Japan Airlines’ effort to provide a more seamless travel experience across the country. By offering this service, the airline hopes to relieve some of the pressure on popular tourist destinations such as Mount Fuji, which has recently introduced entry fees and capped daily visitor numbers to address concerns about overcrowding.
The offer is currently available to travellers from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Thailand, with plans to expand it to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, China, and Taiwan in the coming weeks. Travellers from these countries can take advantage of the promotion by booking an international flight with Japan Airlines, combined with a domestic flight in the same reservation. However, a stopover fee will apply for those flying from the US, Canada, Mexico, and China if their stop exceeds 24 hours.
In addition to the free flights, Japan Airlines is offering generous baggage allowances. Passengers who purchase a domestic flight from outside Japan can check in up to two bags, each weighing up to 23 kg. This policy provides significant convenience for travellers looking to explore Japan without the hassle of managing heavy luggage.
This promotion comes on the heels of surveys conducted earlier this year, where more than 21 million passengers from 100 countries rated Japan Airlines as one of the top airlines worldwide. This new offer only strengthens the airline’s commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience.
