Oman Air strengthens regional ties through oneworld alliance.
Oman Air has formally become the 15th airline to join the oneworld alliance as of 1 July 2025, marking a major step forward in expanding its global partnerships. This development enhances the alliance’s footprint in the Middle East and opens new opportunities for international travel.
According to Nat Pieper, CEO of oneworld, this addition provides exciting new travel possibilities for customers. He emphasised Oman Air’s importance in broadening the alliance’s strategic reach while highlighting the airline’s highly regarded service offerings. The inclusion of Oman Air reinforces oneworld’s stature as a preferred network for premium international travellers.
Customers flying with oneworld now gain access to Oman Air’s expanding schedule, which includes the launch of a direct route between Muscat and Amsterdam. This extension of services creates improved links between Europe and the Middle East, benefiting both leisure and business travellers.
As a full member of oneworld, Oman Air offers alliance members access to various benefits. These include the ability to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles, accumulate status points, priority check-in, priority boarding, and complimentary lounge access depending on membership tier.
Travellers holding oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, or Ruby status can now enjoy seamless benefits while flying with Oman Air. Moreover, the airline’s elite passengers are granted access to nearly 700 airport lounges around the world, including newly established oneworld lounges located at Amsterdam Schiphol and Incheon International Airport in Seoul.
Speaking about the membership, Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, expressed the airline’s pride in joining the alliance. He underlined Oman Air’s commitment to sharing the rich cultural heritage of the Sultanate of Oman with global travellers, encouraging visitors to explore its natural beauty and distinctive hospitality.
Oman Air operates out of Muscat International Airport and services 42 destinations across 22 countries and territories. Its global network includes connections to several major oneworld hubs, enhancing international accessibility for alliance members.
The airline features three cabin classes, including the renowned Business Studio, which offers private suites on selected long-haul flights. This premium service reflects Oman Air’s dedication to passenger comfort and luxury.
Oman Air has also earned notable accolades in recent years. At the 2025 APEX Awards, it received titles such as Best Cabin Service and Best Food & Beverage in the Middle East. Furthermore, in late 2024, it became one of only ten airlines worldwide to receive the distinguished APEX WORLD CLASS by YATES+ designation. It also achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first airline to attain this elite status for its Business Class Lounge at Muscat International Airport.
