Six Czech tourists in Kazakhstan were arrested for dressing up as the character Borat – wearing only mankinis.
Six Czech men were arrested in Astana, Kazakhstan after they stripped down to neon-green Borat-style mankinis while posing for photos in public.
The pranksters wore the famous green swimsuits worn by the comedian Borat in the 2006 film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
Local media reported the tourists were arrested and each fined 22,500 Tenge ($67) for their “indecent” appearances.
Borat remains a controversial figure in the Central Asian state.
The country banned the movie whilst the government threatened to sue Sacha Baron Cohen.
However in 2012, the Kazakh foreign minister publicly thanked Mr Cohen for boosting their tourism.
