Paine Field (PAE) focuses on short to medium-haul domestic routes, providing an alternative to the much larger Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Key destinations include Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Las Vegas (LAS), Phoenix (PHX), Denver (DEN), and various cities in California and the Southwest. It does not offer long-haul international flights.

Commercial service at Paine Field is dominated by Alaska Airlines, which operates most of the routes. United Airlines also operates flights to its Denver and San Francisco hubs. The airport lacks low-cost carriers and other major airlines, keeping competition limited.

To find affordable flights from the Everett area, book Alaska or United flights from PAE several weeks in advance. However, for a vastly wider selection of destinations, lower fares, and more competition, most travelers use Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), which is about a 45-minute to 1-hour drive south. SEA offers an extensive global network with all major and low-cost carriers. Always compare the total cost (flight + parking/transport) of flying from PAE versus SEA. Paine Field's main advantage is extreme convenience and less crowding, not necessarily lower prices.
