Cheap Flights To Brno

Finding Cheap Flights To Brno

Brno is served by Brno–Tuřany Airport (BRQ), the second-largest airport in the Czech Republic. It functions primarily as a focus city for low-cost carriers, offering a growing network of point-to-point European arrivals, alongside an essential business connection from Prague. However, for many travelers, flying into nearby Vienna (VIE) or Prague (PRG) and taking a short train or bus may be cheaper and offer far more options.

The most frequent and affordable flights into Brno are from popular European city-break and sun destinations operated by low-cost airlines. Key arrival routes include London (STN), Milan (BGY), Brussels Charleroi (CRL), Eindhoven (EIN), and seasonal services from Mediterranean holiday spots (e.g., Mallorca, Crete). Year-round, the most important connection for business travelers is from Prague (PRG) with Czech Airlines, providing access from the capital's network — though this route is less relevant for international arrivals from outside the Czech Republic.

The arrival market at BRQ is dominated by low-cost carriers. Ryanair has established Brno as a base and offers the widest route network, bringing in passengers from the UK, Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Wizz Air also operates several routes, primarily from Eastern European cities. Czech Airlines (ČSA) provides the vital scheduled connection from its Prague (PRG) hub, but this is mainly useful for travelers already within the Czech Republic.

To secure cheap flights to Brno, book European low-cost arrivals 2–4 months in advance for the introductory fares — Ryanair and Wizz Air raise prices significantly as the departure date approaches. For the Prague connection (if you're already in Czech Republic), booking 2–3 weeks ahead is usually sufficient. However, always compare the total cost of flying directly into BRQ (including the limited flight schedule) with flying into Vienna (VIE) or Prague (PRG). Both are major hubs with extensive low-cost and full-service networks. From Vienna, a direct bus or train to Brno takes about 1.5–2 hours and costs as little as €10–15. From Prague, the train takes about 2.5 hours. Often, a cheap flight into VIE plus a bus ticket undercuts a direct Ryanair fare into BRQ, especially if your origin city isn't served by BRQ's limited network. Flying into Brno mid-week, especially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, consistently offers the lowest prices if you do choose to fly directly.
