Cheap Flights To Antananarivo

Travelers arriving into Antananarivo will find the most frequent and essential services from regional destinations. The top inbound routes are from nearby islands and African hubs: Johannesburg (JNB), Nairobi (NBO), Mauritius (MRU), and Reunion (RUN). Key long-haul arrivals include direct flights from Paris (CDG) and Istanbul (IST), which serve as primary gateways from Europe and beyond into TNR. Seasonal and less frequent services may also link from other European cities and Guangzhou (CAN) in China to Antananarivo.

The market is served by a mix of airlines flying into TNR. Air Madagascar (now rebranded as Madagascar Airlines) is the national carrier, operating many regional and international routes into Antananarivo. They are joined by major foreign carriers such as Air France, Turkish Airlines, Air Austral, Kenya Airways, and Ethiopian Airlines (via Addis) arriving at TNR. Competition exists primarily on the routes from Johannesburg, Mauritius, and Paris into Antananarivo.

To secure cheap flights to Antananarivo, booking well in advance is absolutely critical, especially for peak seasons (July-October, December) into TNR. Compare fares on the competitive Paris route between Air France and Air Madagascar for arrivals in Antananarivo. For travel from beyond Africa and Europe to TNR, connecting via Istanbul (Turkish Airlines) or Johannesburg (South African Airways) can often provide more options and competitive pricing into Antananarivo than direct services. Given the high cost of air travel to and from Madagascar, using a flight comparison tool and being flexible with your travel dates by a few days can lead to significant savings for flights into TNR.
