Finding Cheap Flights To Lviv

Lviv is served by Lviv Danylo Halytskyi International Airport (LWO), a major airport in western Ukraine. Due to the ongoing war following Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, all Ukrainian airspace is closed to civilian traffic. The airport is currently non-operational for scheduled commercial flights into LWO.

Historically, before the war, Lviv was a key international gateway for western Ukraine. It offered a wide range of flights into LWO from major European hubs like Warsaw, Vienna, Munich, Istanbul, and London, as well as domestic services from Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities to Lviv. It was also a popular airport for low-cost carriers arriving in the region.

Prior to 2022, the airport was served by Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Wizz Air, and Ryanair flying into LWO. Turkish Airlines also provided an important connection from Istanbul to Lviv. All scheduled commercial operations into LWO are currently suspended.

Critical Current Status: Finding commercial flights to Lviv is currently impossible. Air travel into LWO is suspended indefinitely due to the extreme safety risks. The airport may be used for military, humanitarian, or diplomatic purposes only. Travel to Ukraine is strongly discouraged by all governments. When peace is restored, Lviv will likely be one of the first airports to resume operations for arrivals, reconnecting western Ukraine to European hubs into LWO. Future booking advice for Lviv will involve checking new routes on both legacy and low-cost European carriers into LWO. For now, this information is for historical and future reference only for flights to Lviv.
