Hamad International Airport (DOH)

Overview: Hamad International Airport (DOH) is Qatar’s premier international airport and the global hub for Qatar Airways. Located approximately 12 km (7.5 miles) east of Doha’s city center, it opened in 2014 and has since been expanded significantly. It is renowned for its luxurious architecture, quiet and efficient ambiance, and world-class amenities, consistently ranking among the best airports globally.

Terminals: DOH currently operates as a single, massive integrated terminal, though it is functionally divided into concourses connected by an automated people mover.

• Main Terminal: Houses all check-in, arrivals, and primary facilities. The iconic Lamp Bear sculpture by Urs Fischer is located in the center of the departures hall.
• Concourse A: Directly connected to the main terminal.
• Concourse B: Accessible via a short underground automated people mover train from the main terminal.

As of May 27, 2024, all commercial passenger operations have permanently shifted to Hamad International Airport (DOH). Doha International Airport is now closed to scheduled airline traffic and is used for state, private, and military aviation.

Critical Information for Travellers: When booking travel to Doha from mid-2024 onward, your flight will only operate to/from Hamad International Airport (DOH). Double-check your ticket and confirm with your airline to avoid any confusion.

There is no choice for commercial passengers: all scheduled flights now operate exclusively through Hamad International Airport (DOH). The old Doha International Airport is no longer an option for airline travel. Ensure your tickets and booking confirmations list DOH as the airport code.
