Important: Always confirm your terminal with your airline before departing for the airport, as some international carriers may still use T1. The two terminals are adjacent, connected by a short covered walkway (a 5-10 minute walk).

Getting to and from Phuket Airport (HKT):

Pre-Booked Private Transfer (Highly Recommended):
The most hassle-free and reliable option, especially for families or groups. Book online in advance through a reputable company, hotel, or travel agent. A driver will meet you in arrivals with a sign. Fares are fixed: to Patong approx. 800-1,200 THB, to Kata/Karon 1,000-1,400 THB.
Airport Taxi (Metered & Limousine):
Official taxis operate from counters inside the arrivals halls. You pay a fixed fare at the counter (based on destination zone) and receive a voucher to give to the driver. This is a safe, no-hassle option. Fares are similar to pre-booked transfers. Avoid touts offering rides outside the terminal.
Ride-Hailing (Bolt / Grab):
These apps operate in Phuket. Bolt is generally cheaper and more popular than Grab. Designated pick-up points are outside the terminals. However, airport regulations can make pick-up tricky, and drivers sometimes cancel. It can be significantly cheaper than official taxis (e.g., 500 THB to Patong).
Minibus (Shared Van):
A budget option for solo travelers or couples. Counters in the arrivals hall sell shared van seats to major beach areas. You may have to wait for the van to fill up and will likely make multiple drop-offs. Fares are around 200-300 THB per person. Not ideal if you’re tired or in a hurry.
Car Rental:

Public Bus (Airport Bus & Smart Bus):
The cheapest option.
- Airport Bus: Runs from the airport to Phuket Town Bus Terminal for 100 THB.

Which Airport for Phuket?

There is only one airport: Phuket International Airport (HKT). All scheduled passenger flights will arrive and depart from here. Do not confuse it with the small marina “airport” for seaplanes.
