An Air China flight was diverted after a crew member was held hostage by a male passenger with a fountain pen.

 

On Sunday morning, an Air China flight from Changsha to Beijing had to be diverted after a passenger held a crew member hostage using a fountain pen as a weapon.

 

Air China flight CA1350 made an emergency landing in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou after the man threatened the crew member.

 

According to local reports, Mr Xu, a 41-year-old man from Hunan province who suffers from “mental illness”, had been taken into custody.

 

No passengers or crew were harmed during the incident.
