Alaska Airlines will be joining the Oneworld alliance in 2021.


Alaska Airlines plans to join the Oneworld alliance, a network of 13 global airlines that includes the likes of American, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, Iberia, Finnair and Qantas.


Although the application has not yet been approved, Oneworld has said it is delighted by the announcement.


Additionally, Alaska Airlines announced it will strengthen its partnership with American Airlines.


Passengers will now be able to redeem Alaska miles on all American Airlines flights, and Alaska Lounge members will be able to access American Airlines Admirals Clubs.


According to reports, passengers will soon be able to earn Alaska miles on all American Airlines flights.


American also announced that it will be launching two new international flights from Seattle – the main hub for Alaska Airlines which sees 350 daily flights.


A daily service to Bangalore as of October 2020 and a daily service to London as of March 2021.


Royal Air Maroc is set to join the Oneworld alliance this spring, whilst LATAM plans to leave.
