American Airlines claims to have video proof passenger was not abandoned in wheelchair overnight | Secret Flying

American Airlines is suggesting that an elderly passenger was untruthful when she claimed she was left sitting in an airport terminal overnight.

American Airlines has said it can debunk a family’s claim that a 67-year-old woman was left in a wheelchair overnight at Chicago O’Hare International Airport after her flight was cancelled.

Olimpia Warsaw was heading home from Chicago to Detroit after attending her ex-husband’s funeral.

When she arrived at the airport she was told the flight was cancelled.

Warsaw’s family claimed airline staff did not transport her to the hotel despite saying they would.

The family say airport security found her many hours later still in the terminal wearing the same clothes as the previous day.

However, American Airlines has hit back claiming it has footage and call records that shows that only “approximately 45 minutes elapsed between the time a wheelchair attendant left and someone came to pick up” Warsaw.

The carrier also released a timeline of events, citing CCTV footage and call logs.

“Ms. Warsaw was dropped off in the terminal at 12:30 a.m. CT on Dec. 1, and a family member arrived at the airport to pick her up at 1:13 a.m. CT,” the airline said in a statement to The Washington Post.
