An American Airlines pilot was arrested Saturday morning at Louisville International Airport.

An American Airlines pilot was arrested at Louisville International Airport on Saturday, after being indicted over the murders of three people.

Christian R. Martin is accused of killing Calvin and Pamela Phillips of Pembroke and their neighbour, Edward Dansereau, in November 2015.

Martin, whose jail mugshot shows him wearing a pilot’s uniform, also faces charges of attempted arson, burglary and evidence tampering.

According to reports, he was arrested at the airport as he arrived at work to pilot American Airlines flight AA5523 destined for Charlotte.

Passengers were alerted that their pilot had been arrested, resulting in false assumptions on board that he was drunk.

Martin actually gave a 29-minute news channel interview in 2016 about their deaths, denying any involvement.

“All of us at American Airlines and PSA Airlines are deeply saddened to have learned about these allegations from 2015. Our team was made aware of the indictment this morning after his arrest at Louisville International Airport,” American Airlines said in a statement.

“We have an unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our customers and team members, and we will provide any investigative assistance possible to law enforcement throughout their investigation.”
