Since the day Secret Flying launched, our mission has always been simple: make travel accessible to everyone. That’s why we’ve worked incredibly hard to keep our service completely free for as long as possible.
Over the years, our community has grown far beyond what we ever imagined. Today, millions of travellers rely on Secret Flying to discover incredible flight deals and save thousands on their trips. However, running Secret Flying at this scale has become increasingly expensive.
Despite strong growth, advertising revenue is no longer enough to cover the costs of operating the platform. We send out a whopping two million email alerts every day, and because many members access deals directly through our emails, less traffic reaches the website, reducing ad revenue while email delivery costs continue to rise.
The high volume of emails can also affect how quickly alerts are delivered. Some notifications take time to arrive, meaning certain deals may expire before they’re seen by our members.
To ensure Secret Flying can continue operating and improving, we will be introducing a three-tier membership structure: Free, Standard, and Premium.
Over the next week, the new membership structure will be rolled out and you’ll be prompted to choose a plan when you log in. You can select the Free Plan or one of the paid options. There is no requirement to choose a paid plan, and you’ll still be able to browse many of our deals at no cost. Our goal is to keep Secret Flying open and accessible, while introducing additional features for those who want a more personalised experience.
Paid plans will include features such as personalised alerts based on specific routes and cabin classes, an ad-free experience, access to premium cabin deals, and access to Fuel Dump deals.
Secret Flying has always been focused on helping travellers find exceptional flight deals and make travel more affordable. This new structure allows us to continue doing that while ensuring the platform remains sustainable.
