A British man died on a Jet2 flight to Ibiza after overdosing on cocaine, it was reported.

A British man has died on a Jet2 flight to Ibiza after allegedly overdosing on cocaine as two passengers performed CPR in a bid to save him.

The man, thought to be in his thirties, suffered a medical emergency on the Saturday evening flight, which departed from Manchester.

Flight LS171 was diverted to Toulouse where an ambulance was waiting to take the man to hospital.

Speaking to British media, a passenger on the flight said: “We heard that he had become paranoid that staff knew he taking drugs and that he had swallowed it all for fear of getting caught.”

Two women on board gave the man CPR in the aisle and a defibrillator was used but the man could not be saved.

A UK Foreign Office spokeswoman said: “We are in contact with the French authorities following the death of a British man in Toulouse and are supporting his family at this difficult time.”
