Man rescued after six days trapped in Bali well.
A 29-year-old British tourist has been rescued, after being trapped down a well for six days on the Indonesian island of Bali.
Jacob Matthew Roberts reportedly was running away from a stray dog that chased him through a village, when he fell into the near-empty reservoir and broke his leg.
For six days, Jacob was trapped in the 13ft-deep concrete well, surviving by drinking the water he was lying in.
“Jacob’s calls for help were heard by a local who was going to feed his cows,” local search and rescue chief Gede Darmada told AFP.
Locals threw down a rope to help Jacob up, however, due to his injuries he was unable to pull himself out.
A search and rescue team were then called and Mr Roberts was eventually lifted out of the well in a stretcher by three men.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was in a stable condition.
Mr Darmada appealed to village locals to pay attention to their wells and ensure they are covered when not in use.
