Caribbean faces fresh devastation as Cat 5 Hurricane Maria hits | Secret Flying

The Caribbean island of Dominica has suffered “widespread damage” from Hurricane Maria, as other islands await their fate.

The latest major Atlantic hurricane of the season, Maria, briefly dipped to a category 4 before regaining strength to a category 5.

Last night, Hurricane Maria battered the island of Dominica.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said: “We have lost all that money can buy.”

Maria is now following a similar path to Irma, which left many islands devastated only last week.

Many of the islands already hit by that storm are expecting to be hit on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Puerto Rico is preparing for what could be the strongest hurricane to slam the island for almost a century.
