Cathay Pacific says the personal data of up to 9.4 million passengers have been stolen in a hack.
The personal data of 9.4m Cathay Pacific passengers has been stolen in a cyber attack in the latest security breach to hit the aviation industry.
It is reported to be the biggest airline data breach ever.
Passport numbers, email addresses and credit card details were among the data leaked.
The airline advises concerned customers to contact @cxinfosec via Twitter for data security event support.
The airline said that it will be contacting all Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles users “in the coming days.”
We are very sorry for any concern this data security event may cause our passengers,” Cathay Pacific’s chief executive Rupert Hogg said in a statement.
He said there was “no evidence that any personal data has been misused.”
This is the second time in as many months an airline has been hit with a massive cyber attack.
In September, credit card details were stolen in a huge British Airways data breach.
