‘Unruly passenger’ reportedly tried to breach cockpit.

A Delta flight from Los Angeles to Nashville, Tennessee, made an emergency landing on Friday afternoon after an unruly passenger attempted to break into the cockpit.

Flight DL386 was approximately one hour into its journey when a male passenger “tried to hijack” the plane.

According to reports, the unnamed man made an unsuccessful attempt in opening the locked cockpit door.

Video taken aboard the plane shows the zip-tied and shoeless man being pinned down by passengers and crew members as he shouts “stop this plane!”

The aircraft was diverted to Albuquerque International Sunport where the passenger was arrested by police.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation in Albuquerque said on Twitter that it was responding to the incident and that there was “no threat to the public at this time.”

In a statement, Delta did not provide details of the passenger trying to breach the cockpit.

“The plane landed safely and the passenger was removed by police and the FBI. He is in custody now,” the company said.

The plane landed in Albuquerque at 2:18 p.m. with another aircraft departing for Nashville later in the evening.
