Face mask troubles continue.
An elderly man was removed from an Allegiant Air flight Monday morning in Punta Gorda after allegedly asking a flight attendant to put a face mask on.
According to reports, the man repeatedly asked the Allegiant employee to put her mask back on after she lowered it for the safety briefing.
This angered the flight attendant, resulting in the man getting kicked off the aircraft for “disrupting the flight.”
In a video posted online, the man can be seen leaving the aircraft, saying: “I just asked somebody to put on their face mask, that’s all I did.”
Another passenger can be heard saying “this is not right,” to which a cabin crew member responds “I’m just doing what I’m supposed to do.”
A spokesperson for Allegiant said the passenger was removed for violating FAA regulations by “repeatedly and aggressively disrupting the preflight safety briefing.”
The airline said the flight attendant “briefly lowered their mask to speak into the public address microphone so that the announcement could be understood.”
According to the airline, face coverings are required for all phases of travel, including at the ticket counter, gate area and onboard the aircraft.
