Flight diverted after report of possible bomb on board.

An easyJet flight heading for the UK landed safely after being been diverted to Prague due to a report of a “possible bomb” on board.

Flight U26276 was flying from Krakow in Poland to Bristol on Sunday, when it was diverted towards the Czech capital after a “suspected IED was reported on board.”

The Airbus A320 was about an hour into its usual 2hr 30min flight when it landed at Václav Havel airport.

Upon arrival in Prague, passengers were deplaned before explosives experts boarded the aircraft to investigate the reported device.

Without disclosing what the device was, Prague Airport later confirmed no dangerous object was found on the plane.

The official Twitter account of Prague Airport, @PragueAirport, tweeted (translated): “At 22:50 a diverted aircraft landed safely on the @pragueairport Krakow-Bristol route.

“All actions to ensure the safety of passengers and all air traffic are currently being carried out by @PolicieCZ.”

Two hours later, they sent an update to say: “No dangerous object was found on the plane after the pyrotechnic inspection.”

A spokesperson for easyJet said: “easyJet can confirm that flight EZY6267 from Krakow to Bristol yesterday evening diverted to Prague purely as a precautionary security measure.

“The flight has been delayed overnight in Prague where customers have been provided with hotel accommodation and meals and will depart later today.

“We take any security threats made to easyJet seriously and work closely with the police and security agencies.

“The safety and security of passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority and we would like to thank passengers for their understanding.”
