EasyJet investigates passenger mutiny.

Passengers on an easyJet flight reportedly staged a mutiny to stop the airline from unfairly removing two black men from the plane, after they reportedly ‘huffed’ at a flight attendant.

According to reports, the men removed their shoes prior to take off, before a flight attendant told them to put them back on for safety reasons.

The pair were accused of “huffing” at the attendant, prompting them to get kicked off the flight.

Airline staff called the police to report two “disobedient passengers,” leading to four armed officers entering the plane and attempting to remove the two men.

At this point, many other passengers staged a mutiny, claiming the two black men had not done anything wrong and that the airline’s attack on the pair was possibly racially motivated.

In a video posted online by Luke Gayle, 28, passengers can be heard telling the men not to get off the plane.

“No no no. Don’t do that. Don’t get off,” a woman can be heard saying.

“@easyJet attempting to remove 2 black boys from the flight for huffing at a member of the crew! Absolutely disgusting. We’ve been delayed 2 hours and counting! Police on board,” Gayle captioned his video.

Speaking to MailOnline, Gayle said: “I am a racial justice ambassador and I kind of know how unconscious racial bias works. Obviously it’s very difficult in these situations to say it was a racial issue, it’s difficult to prove that, however, was there some kind of unconscious bias there?

“Because it seems so dramatic to call the police and have a plane with 160-odd passengers turn around and be delayed for someone huffing at them. I mean surely as cabin crew you are trained on how to deal with those situations effectively.

“Everyone else on the plane was white from what I can remember, and they were the only three black passengers.”

A spokesperson for easyJet said: “EasyJet does not discriminate against any individual. Safety is our highest priority and there is nothing to suggest that discrimination played any part in the issue on board.”
