Images have surfaced online showing filthy conditions at Ibiza Airport as cleaners go on strike over pay.

Dirty nappies, rotting food and toilets too filthy to use have been reported by passengers at Ibiza Airport. After only 5 days into a cleaners strike over pay, the airport is becoming a health hazard.

Alex Monkiewicz, 25, who was flying with British Airways from Ibiza to Manchester on Sunday, told Manchester Evening News: “We have just been saying that it looks like an apocalypse. It’s literally tonnes of rubbish, stuff everywhere.”

easyJet, a British low-cost carrier, published a notice on their website warning passengers about the conditions at the airport.
The notice read: “The cleaning company for the terminal buildings at Ibiza airport have announced a strike from the 17th May.
Please be aware that during this time the terminal and facilities in the building may not be cleaned. We therefore recommend using our facilities on-board our aircraft or before travelling to the airport.”
