Flight forced to turn around after woman leaves her baby in the airport | Secret Flying

A Saudia flight had to turn back after a passenger realised she had left her baby in the terminal.

A Saudia plane was forced to turn around after a passenger realised her baby was not onboard.

Flight SV832 bound for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was in mid-air when the mother realised she left her baby in the terminal.

After alerting the cabin crew, the Saudia pilots made a request to return to Jeddah’s King Abdul Aziz International Airport.

A video posted online, seemingly taken inside the controllers’ office, captured the exchange between the pilot and air traffic control.

In a mixture of Arabic and English, the pilot can be heard asking: “May God be with us. Can we come back?”

“A passenger has left her baby in the terminal and she is refusing to continue the flight.”

A controller can be heard discussing the situation with his colleagues, before asking the pilot to reiterate his reason for wanting to turn the back.

The pilot responds: “We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight.”

There is a pause before air traffic control replies: “OK, head back to the gate.”

“This is totally a new one for us,” he adds.
