‘Flight from hell’ as passengers endured temperatures of up to 122F after air conditioning fault | Secret Flying

S7 Airlines passengers were left begging to get off a flight after an air conditioning fault saw temperatures soar to 122F.

Passengers demanded to be let off a S7 Airlines flight after the temperature in the cabin reached ‘122F (50C)’ due to an air conditioning ‘malfunction’.

The incident occurred soon after boarding at Tolmachevo Airport in Novosibirsk, Russia.

Prior to boarding, passengers had been made to stand in a bus outside the terminal in -13F.

However, once on board the aircraft is said to have reached conditions like a sauna.

Passenger Vladimir Shakhrin said: “I even put my hand to (where the air conditioning was coming from) and it felt like boiling. It was 113-122F (45C or 50C).

“The plane was like a sauna – and people started complaining.

“Passengers started demanding: ‘We are getting off now’, ‘Stop the plane’, ‘I don’t want to fly, your plane is not okay,'” Shakhrin said.

The pilot insisted there was no risk but admitted a problem with the air-conditioning.

The plane took off forcing the passengers to endure the conditions on the two hour flight.

The Russian Investigative Committee in Ekaterinburg will ‘establish all the circumstances of the incident’ and could launch a criminal case.
