India-Pakistan crisis disrupts flights across the world | Secret Flying

Thai Airways briefly cancelled all flights to Europe as the India-Pakistan crisis escalated.

Thai Airways cancelled all flights to Europe on Wednesday 27 February, after tensions between India and Pakistan showed no signs of dissipating.

Pakistan closed its airspace after it claimed two Indian military jets were shot down after crossing the border.

One of the Indian pilots was captured alive by Pakistani forces.

Prime minister Imran Khan said the pilot will be released as a “gesture of peace.”

The event comes a day after India conducted airstrikes on an alleged terrorist training camp inside Pakistan territory.

The tit-for-tat airstrikes have led to the closure of dozens of airports in the region.

World leaders have asked the nuclear-armed neighbours to ease tensions.

Thai Airways has since resumed flights to Europe, however, they are now being  routed through Chinese airspace.

Many other airlines have also been affected.

Air Canada has cancelled all flights to India, with one service from Toronto to Delhi forced to turn back while flying over Sweden.

Several airlines, including Emirates and Qatar Airways, have suspended flights to Pakistan.
