Passenger with her feet up on another seat’s headrest sparks debate.

An Emirates passenger photographed a female traveller resting her feet on the top of the seat in front, sparking a mixed response online.

Paul Stothard shared the image on Twitter, captioning the photo: “The person next to me on my flight.”

The image shows the blonde-haired woman, in a pair of heavy brown boots, putting her feet on the headrest of the seat in front of her – just inches from another passenger’s head.

Stothard hid the woman’s face by drawing over it.

Many social media users blasted the woman’s actions, calling her “rude” and “unpleasant”.

“Why didn’t the cabin crew address it? If you put your feet up on train seats and a conductor sees you get told, not asked, told to take them off. Same principle here,” one user said.

“I would be havng a big word with her!!!!!! Not having tht at all.” another tweeted.

While a third commented: “Why did you blot out her face? Let everyone see her for what she is – most unpleasant.”

However, there were other Twitter users who defended the woman.

“Actually that person could suffer from all sorts of conditions that require her legs to be up when flying. There are various conditions that are aided by legs being up in the air (no pun intended)” one Twitter user said.

“If the guy in front of her didn’t care, why do you? I assume a long flight and I have seen people lay on the floor during those long flights,” another commented.

A third user wrote: ‘If she’s not touching the guy in front I don’t see the problem.”

It’s unclear if the woman was eventually told by Emirates cabin crew to put her feet down.
