Bad tourist behaviour continues to blight Venice.
An Israeli tourist has been arrested in Venice, Italy after he reportedly held a local currency exchange worker hostage over a money dispute.
The 46-year-old man was unhappy with the amount of euros he received for his $100, resulting in an argument.
He demanded a refund, which according to the female employee was not possible.
The Israeli man then decided to barricade himself and the women in the currency exchange booth, located near Rialto Bridge, pulling down the shutters and preventing her from leaving.
After half an hour, the ‘dismayed and frightened’ teller managed to call the police.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with kidnapping.
The incident is just the latest in a string of confrontations between tourists and locals.
This has resulted in the local government creating visitor-only routes, aimed at keeping tourists away from residents.
Last month, two Czech tourists were arrested and fined for skinny dipping near the Piazza San Marco.
In the same month, a South American tourist head-butted a gondolier during an altercation over taking a selfie.
