Jet2 flight met by emergency services after passengers ‘drop like flies’ with sickness

Six ambulances were called to Leeds Bradford Airport after Jet2 plane passengers suddenly turned violently ill from a ‘sickness bug’.

 

A Jet2 flight caused an emergency response after a violent sickness bug onboard resulted in multiple travellers vomiting.

 

Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to Leeds Bradford Airport at 9.44pm on Saturday when a number of passengers fell ill.

 

The flight , which arrived from from Reus, Spain, was met by six ambulances on the runway who made sure that the sickness was not contagious.

 

Local media reported that passengers had been “violently sick” to the point where one “passed out”.

 

One passenger, Nicola Titley, wrote on Facebook that “people dropping like flies on the plane”.

 

A spokesman for Jet 2 said: “”We can confirm that the crew on board flight LS298 from Reus to Leeds Bradford Airport arranged an ambulance for two passengers who were taken ill.

 

“The crew were alerted to a further two, non-associated cases of passengers feeling unwell on board.

 

“On arrival, as a precaution they were immediately checked over in the ambulance before heading home.

 

“All other passengers disembarked as normal and continued their journeys. The safety and care of our customers is always our first priority.’’
