Juelz Santana was arrested on drug and weapon charges after he fled Newark Airport when TSA agents discovered a loaded gun in his carry-on bag.
Rapper and actor, Juelz Santana, surrendered to authorities early Monday, more than 48 hours after he allegedly ran from security at Newark Liberty International Airport when TSA agents found a loaded gun in his carry-on bag.
Santana, whose real name is LaRon James, was scheduled to board a flight to San Francisco.
A TSA spokeswoman said agents noticed the firearm when Santana’s bag was passing through an X-ray machine. That’s when authorities say the suspect took off running.
The rapper left the airport in a taxi, leaving behind his bag, ID and boarding pass.
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
