LaGuardia Airport now has $15 flat-rate rides to New York City | Secret Flying

LGA Connect offers $15 rides from LaGuardia to Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

LaGuardia Airport is teaming up with ride-sharing company, Via, to set a $20 cap for shared rides within New York City.

The program, called LGA Connect, will cost $20 for shared trips to Staten Island and the Bronx.

Whilst journeys to Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens will cost only $15.

According to the company, passengers will not have to wait for the 6-passenger Mercedes Metris van to be filled.

The vehicle will set off every 10-minutes regardless of how few passengers are onboard.

Travellers will be dropped off on a corner near their desired destination, up to a maximum distance of two blocks.

LGA Connect is currently in a pilot phase and available for passengers arriving at LaGuardia Airport in Terminals C and D.

“We are in the peak of construction of an entirely new airport with the high-volume holiday travel season now upon us,” Rick Cotton, the Port Authority’s executive director, said in a statement.

“Since the agency is constantly looking for ways to reduce congestion and improve the LaGuardia experience, we welcome Via’s LGA Connect service.”

The Via app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
