London Stansted Airport has sparked fury by banning sleepy passengers from napping while they wait for flights.

London Stansted Airport has banned passengers from sleeping on the terminal floor while they wait for their flight.

The airport announced the new rule to combat passengers camping at the airport on hammocks and blown-up beds.

According to reports, Stansted Airport said there have been as many 600 passengers staying overnight in the terminal.

After the final flight of the night, the departures area of the terminal will now close.

Passengers are welcome to take a seat and rest in the arrivals section, however, sleeping on the floor is forbidden.

London Stansted Airport said in a statement: “Departing passengers travelling on early morning flights should not arrive sooner than their scheduled check-in time.”
