A man has been arrested accused of trespassing at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport after allegedly entering a restricted area and deploying a plane’s escape slide early Tuesday morning.
Zackaria Mohamud Mudasir is reported to have entered the secure area of Terminal 2 through a closed jetway at Gate 3 around 2:15 am.
Once on the tarmac, the 39-year-old somehow activated the emergency slide on a parked United Airlines aircraft.
Police say Mudasir failed to produce identification and provided a false name to the arresting officer.
He was booked into Maricopa County Jail on charges of criminal trespassing, criminal damage and failure to provide a true and lawful name.
