BA passenger poops on plane floor, delaying flight.
A passenger on a British Airways plane destined for Lagos, Nigeria, defecated on the floor before smearing faeces on himself and around the cabin.
According to reports, as the plane prepared for takeoff at London’s Heathrow Airport, the man removed his clothing and defecated in the galley of the economy class cabin.
The unnamed man then reportedly proceeded to smear his faeces on the carpet and seats as shocked onlookers screamed for cabin crew to stop him.
“During boarding, a passenger stripped from the waist down and defecated on the galley floor. He sat in it and rubbed it onto the galley floor and aisle carpets,” a witness told The Sun.
“He walked in it and started running up the aisle as far as Door 4. He smeared his arms to elbow in faecal matter, and door seats as he went,” they continued.
A report seen by The Sun said the carpets and curtains were “severely contaminated” and recommended that a hygienic biohazard and deep clean be carried out.
BA075 was delayed for three hours as another plane was found for the Lagos flight.
The original Boeing 777-336 jet was taken out of service and cleaned. It has since resumed service.
It is not known what triggered the incident, whether the passenger was charged or if he has been banned from BA flights.
In a statement, British Airways said: “We apologized to our customers for the delay to their flight and arranged for an alternative aircraft to allow them to continue their journey.”
There have been no indication whether passengers were compensated for witnessing the incident.
